Sonia Hall Inducted into Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional & Entrepreneurial Registry
Sonia D. Hall, founder and executive director of Horsefeathers Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Inc., will be included as an honored member for excellence in equestrian therapy.

/Disability News Articles/ - Edgewood, TX, March 26, 2008, Sonia D. Hall, founder and executive director of Horsefeathers Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Inc., will be included as an honored member in the 2008-2009 edition of the Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry for excellence in equestrian therapy.

As the head of Horsefeathers, a non-profit organization offering horse education and therapy to disabled children, Ms. Hall is responsible for caring for 16 horses, seeking grants and supervising volunteers. An expert in finance and raising horses—she has been around horses for more than 30 years—she decided to open her own center five years ago, motivated by her granddaughter, who suffered from hydrocephalus, and her conviction that being with horses can bring joy to the lives of disabled children, give them a sense of empowerment and raise their self-esteem, while improving their strength, endurance, coordination and range of motion at the same time. "The connection between horses and children with disabilities provides therapy that is incredibly underestimated," she says.

Ms. Hall, who also manages a full-service tanning salon, holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration. An active member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association, she looks forward to expanding to a 50-acre property to better meet the needs of all her students and horses, as well as facilitate the breeding of Andalusian horses, beginning with the mare that she currently owns. Despite the challenges she faces, particularly when it comes to obtaining the funding imperative to running a non-profit business, she feels that perseverance and unwavering devotion to one's dreams regardless of what others say can be the keys to success. She may be contacted through email at cdntxn@yahoo.com.
