/Disability News Articles/ - Katy, TX, June 11, 2008, Debby Cochran, reading specialist for the Katy Independent School District, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of compensatory education.

Ms. Cochran has 23 years of experience working for the Katy Independent School District where she specializes in instructing dyslexic students and other struggling readers. Ms. Cochran attributes her success to her focus, desire to help others, and the support she received from her colleagues. She has been active in her profession for 32 years and became involved due to her interest in reading and her desire to be a teacher. The most gratifying aspect of her career is hearing success stories from her former students.

Ms. Cochran received her Bachelor's of Science in Education from Texas State University. She is a member of the Katy Education Association, Texas State Teachers' Association, and the National Education Association. Ms. Cochran was published in Who's Who Among American Teachers in 1996, was the Word Masters Challenge Analogy Supervisor and won first in the nation in 1999, won Teacher of the Year in 2002, and is a team leader and campus lead mentor.
