/Disability News Articles/ - Hamburg, NJ, July 26, 2008—Linda A. Harrigan, Founder and Executive Director of The Children's Therapy Center of North Jersey, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of occupational therapy.

Ms. Harrigan has more than 26 years of professional experience. Specializing in pediatric occupational therapy, she is responsible for evaluating and treating children with developmental disabilities, neuromuscular conditions, autism spectrum and sensory processing disorders, and learning disabilities; consulting with parents and schools, conducting educational programs for professionals, parents and the community. The ultimate goal is to help children participate as fully as they can in the occupations of childhood. These include play, school, self-care and daily living skills. Watching children with special challenges successfully learn a new skill, proudly overcome a difficult situation, and develop self-confidence is the most rewarding aspect of her career.

A registered occupational therapist, Ms. Harrigan received her Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from New York University in 1982 and is certified in administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT). She specializes in using sensory integration theory as a frame of reference for intervention. She is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association Inc (AOTA), and the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NBCOT). She is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey. Ms. Harrigan stays current with the trends in her profession by subscribing to professional journals like The American Journal of Occupational Therapy, continuously pursuing advanced training through continuing education courses, and providing clinical supervision to occupational therapy students.
