Ms. Tajes, a Licensed and Certified expert in Special and General Education, curriculum planning, differentiated instruction and assessment, developmental evaluations, behavior therapy implementation, and an educational evaluator of educators and educational programs.
/Disability News Articles/ - Brooklyn, NY, September 12, 2008, Dorinda Amada Tajes, Teacher and Therapist, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of education.
A Licensed and Certified expert in Special and General Education, curriculum planning, differentiated instruction and assessment, developmental evaluations, behavior therapy implementation, and an educational evaluator of educators and educational programs, Ms. Tajes is a teacher and therapist, working with children with or at risk of developmental delays and/or disabilities. Additionally, she serves as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher for preschool children with special needs. She became involved in her profession because of her interest in teaching and her awareness of the importance of working with families, as they are children's first and foremost "teachers" and support systems. Her success is attributed to her passion for her profession and her deeply rooted vision of creative change that leads to the shaping of our nation's future.
Ms. Tajes currently is self-employed and receives referrals from agencies that service children with special needs. As a behavior therapist, she works with children with Autism, as well as other developmental delays and/or disabilities. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Touro College with a Master's Degree and a Dual Certificate in Special and General Education, and Magna Cum Laude from Saint Joseph's College with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Minor in Human Relations. She was inducted into the honor societies, Sigma Iota Chi, Delta Epsilon Sigma, and Kappa Gamma Pi. She serves as a consultant and facilitates professional development activities, such as workshops and conferences. She contributes generously to foundations that support children with special needs, and supports her local church and community.
