Dr. Shane Russell-Jenkins Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Psychiatry
Mental Health Professional with the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System

YUMA, AZ, February 25, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Shane Russell-Jenkins, Psychiatrist in the Mental Healthcare Department of the Southern Arizona VA Healthcare System, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of psychiatry.

An experienced professional in the field of mental health, Dr. Russell-Jenkins specializes in treating psychiatric patients as well as those suffering with post traumatic stress disorder. At his current post, he is charged with treating clients suffering from sexual abuse, substance abuse, traumatic brain injuries, and associated physical trauma. He also coordinates emergency care and facilitates admissions for mental health disorders and treatment. He considers working with veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and all members of World War II, Korea and the Vietnam War to be the most rewarding aspect of his career.

The support he receives from his parents and former teachers are the keys to Dr. Russell-Jenkins' success. He received his MD and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of New Mexico in 2000 and 1995 respectively and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. In addition, he obtained a degree in Nuclear Reactor Operations, equivalent to that of a Bachelor's, during his tenure in the United States Navy. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Psychiatric Association, the Federal Physicians Association and the National Association of VA Physicians and Dentists. An avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, Dr. Russell-Jenkins is a proud merit badge counselor.
