Alysa Beth Chadow Joins the Ranks of Leading Professionals
Alysa Beth Chadow Specializes in Teaching the Visually Impaired

FREMONT, CA, August 11, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Alysa Beth Chadow, Teacher of the Blind and Visually Impaired for the California School for the Blind, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.

With 20 years of professional experience, Ms. Chadow specializes in teaching English, arts and mathematics to the blind and visually impaired. She assumed her current position in 2000. Her responsibilities include working with children of middle school age, designing curricula and educational programs, and collaborating with the assistant teacher on homework and additional activities that will help students overcome their physical disability.

Also a published author, Ms. Chadow received an award for publishing a Synagogue prayer book in Braille. She is currently working on a children's book. Visually-impaired herself, she considers helping children saddled with the same disability to be both the most challenging and most rewarding aspect of her career. She attributes her success to her sense of humor, ability to think out of the box, and determination to make the most of what she has been given.

Ms. Chadow is a Licensed Teacher for the Blind in the State of New York and a Certified Teacher for the Blind and the Visually Impaired in the State of California. She also holds a single subject credential in English, also from the State of California. She earned her Master of Arts in Anthropology and Education in 1997 from Teachers College, Columbia University, her Master of Arts in Education for the Blind and Visually Impaired in 1987 from Hunter College, and her Bachelor of Arts in 1982 from SUNY Stony Brook University. Her professional affiliations include the California Transcribers and Educators of the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Association for the Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired, and Kappa Delta Pi. She volunteers with Temple Synagogue and Foundation Fighting Blindness, which honored her with an award for her contributions.
