Wendie A. Howland celebrates over 35 years in nursing

BOSTON, MA, November 8, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Wendie A. Howland, RN, MN, CRRN, CCM, CNLCP, Owner, Principal of Howland Health Consulting, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in healthcare consulting services.

Life care planning is a process which produces a dynamic document based on published standards of practice, comprehensive assessment, data analysis and research. This provides an organized, concise plan for current or future needs, with associated costs, for persons with catastrophic injuries or chronic care needs.

In 1973, Ms. Howland embarked on her nursing career in critical care at Stanford University Hospital and the University of Washington. With over a decade experience in case management and life care planning for catastrophic and high-expense chronic conditions, she established Howland Health Consulting in July 2008. In addition to providing professional life care planning she delivers presentations on life care planning and has been invited to be a distinguished lecturer at a small college in Western Massachusetts.

Ms. Howland has been an editor of Journal of Life Care Planning of the American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners for two years. She won first place for her article from the Case Management Society of America and received an award for research for her master's degree project thesis.

Ms. Howland received her Master of Nursing, with a concentration in Physiological and Critical Care Nursing, from the University of Washington in Seattle and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Boston University. A certified case manager, rehabilitation registered nurse and nurse life care planner, she is a member of the Case Management Society of America, the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses, The American Association of Nurse Life Care Planners, the International & American Association for Legal Nurse Consultants and the Case Management Society of New England. In the future, she intends to continue as a certified life care planner working with clients all over the United States.
