Ann E. Westfield Hjort Honored for Accomplishments in Teaching
Ann E. Westfield Hjort enjoys teaching children with disabilities and giving them the respect they need

IMMOKALEE, FL, February 18, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Ann E. Hjort, Special Education Teacher at Lake Trafford Elementary School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.

As a special education teacher, Ms. Hjort teaches seven children with different disabilities, ensures all IEP goals and state standards are implemented, and offers a multi-sensory approach to learning including art therapy. She was an advocate for many years for children with special needs, including her two sons, who are dyslexic, so she decided to go into teaching special education.

Ms. Hjort received her bachelor's degree in psycology at Bridgewater State College in 2000. She received an honorary degree from Leslie College in Boston and is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children and the National Honor Society for Psycology.
