Carol L. Alisesky Honored for Professional Longevity
Special educator Carol L. Alisesky dedicated 25 years of her career to Intermediate Unit #1

RIFTON, NY, March 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Carol L. Alisesky, Retired Special Education Teacher and Personal Care Aide, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.

"Everyone should have the right to achieve in life, no matter what their challenge." So stated Carol L. Alisesky during an exclusive interview with a representative from Cambridge Publishing in 2009. Retired from special education in 2005, Ms. Alisesky enjoyed a fruitful career as an educator. During her 25 years as a teacher for Intermediate Unit #1, she promoted early childhood development and aided physically challenged individuals with daily living and activities.

Ms. Alisesky always knew that she wanted to teach. She notes that her inspiration to become a special educator was sparked when her daughter was born with a disability. Throughout her career, she has always made a conscious effort to care for others in the most effective way possible and provide customized education tools so as to help her students excel. Ms. Alisesky has held a number of positions as an educator. She worked with United Cerebral Palsy as a personal care aide and with the Coal Center in Pennsylvania as a special education teacher and teacher aide. She was also employed by the Guild for the Blind as a night supervisor.

Ms. Alisesky graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in special education. In recognition of outstanding contributions to her field, she was named Woman of the Year in 1988 by the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was also selected by Cambridge Publishing as the "Professional of the Year" for the 2009/2010 year. Ms. Alisesky maintains affiliation with the National Center for Research Resources and sits on the regional board of Disciple in Christ in Pennsylvania.
