Debra L. Swenson derives fulfillment from lending a hand to kids who need it the most
LAWSON, MO, April 7, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Debra L. Swenson, Special Education Teacher at Lawson Middle School, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in special education.
A 20-year veteran of the education field, Debra L. Swenson specializes in teaching special-needs students from the fifth to eighth grades. She is currently on her seventh year with Lawson Middle School, where she conducts special education classes and offers after-school tutoring. Ms. Swenson derives deep personal fulfillment from lending a hand to kids who need it the most and considers breaking through to a student previously unreachable to other teachers to be the highlight of her career. She attributes her success to her perseverance and dedication.
Ms. Swenson received her master's degree in education in 2002 from Baker University and her bachelor of science in special education in 1982 from Brigham Young University. She is a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association. She gives generously to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer's Association, the Special Olympics, the March of Dimes, the American Red Cross, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
