Debra Zar Honored for Accomplishments in Nursing
Debra Zar earned an associate degree of applied science in nursing from the Community College of Denver

DENVER, CO, June 28, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Debra Zar, Registered Nurse for WellPoint, Inc./Anthem Blue Cross, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in patient care.

At Wellpoint, Inc./Anthem Blue Cross, Ms. Zar is responsible for contacting patients and educating people on disease. She teaches prevention, treatments and care measures for asthma, coronary artery disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes and heart failure.

Debra Luanne Zar is a Colorado native. She was born in Boulder and raised in Longmont. During the 70's Ms. Zar graduated from Longmont High School and attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins. Over the next 20 years she was employed as a counselor/program manager for dual diagnosed offenders, clients with developmental disabilities and mental illness. Ms. Zar worked with these clients at the Pueblo County Community Center Board and the Arapahoe County Community Center Board.

Debra next attended the Community College of Denver, where she earned an associate degree of applied science in nursing. Ms. Zar was then employed as a Forensic Registered Nurse at Denver Health and the Denver City and County Jail System.

She began her career at Wellpoint, Inc./Anthem Blue Cross in the summer of 2008. Ms. Zar achieved the status of Disease Management Nurse Coach, Level II in a few months. In the future, she hopes to continue working with Wellpoint, Inc./Anthem Blue Cross and experience professional growth.
