Lorraine J. Kono-Brophy Receives Professional Networking Community's Highest Honor
Lorraine J. Kono-Brophy named "Professional of the Year" representing retail management

KAILUA KONA, HI, August 05, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lorraine J. Kono-Brophy, Office Manager for the Hearing Aid Center of Costco Warehouse, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Retail Management. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named professionals of the year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements and leadership abilities.

Specialized in retail services, Lorraine J. Kono-Brophy lends over 16 years of professional experience to the Hearing Aid Center of Costco Warehouse. Now celebrating her second year in her managerial position, she utilizes her customer service savvy to assist patients with hearing aids, provide technical support and instruction, process prescription orders and handle administrative functions.

Ms. Kono-Brophy has been affiliated with Costco Warehouse since 1993. Over the years, she has served in a number of varying capacities for the company including food court manager, bakery manager and service deli manager. In a candid interview with a representative from Cambridge Publishing, she expressed how much she loves her job as well as her enjoyment of helping and teaching others. Ms. Kono-Brophy attributes her success to her ability to set attainable goals and looks forward to continued professional growth in the coming years.

Ms. Kono-Brophy holds a master of commissioner of science degree from Chaminade University, earned in 1989, a bachelor of commissioner of science degree from Hawaii Pacific University, earned in 1988 and an associate of commissioner of science from the same institution, earned in 1987. She maintains actively involvement with the Boy Scouts of America and completed the following training programs: Boy Scout Basic One and Two, National Camping School at Camp Pupukea, Cub Scout Basic Training, Commissioner Training, Train the Trainers, Cub Scout Leader Development and the Manpower Training Employment Preparation Program. She served as the district commissioner for the Boy Scouts for the 1991/1992 year and was a program director and camp director in 1990. For outstanding contributions the Boy Scouts of America, Ms. Kono-Brophy was honored with the Silver Beaver Scouting Award in 1990, the Bronze Pelican Award in 1989, the Scouter's Arrowhead Award in 1989, the Cub Scout Trainer's Wood Badge Award in 1988, the Cubmaster Scouter's Key Award in 1988, the Scout Family of the Year Award in 1988 and the District Award of Merit in 1987.
